Alchemy Life Therapy
Issues & life challenges

Whatever has brought you here, we’ll start by listening.

You don’t have to choose a category before asking for help. Tell us what life feels like at the moment.

Space for your experience.

Sometimes there is a clear reason you’re struggling. Sometimes there are several. Sometimes you can’t explain why you feel as you do. We can help you explore what’s happening and decide what support could make a difference.

01

Anxiety, stress, and overwhelm

Perhaps you’re constantly anticipating what could go wrong. Your thoughts race, your body feels tense, or small things seem to tip you over the edge. You may experience panic, social anxiety, fears, or the feeling that you can never properly switch off.

We work with you to understand your patterns, develop ways to settle and cope, and build confidence in situations that currently feel difficult.

02

Low mood, depression, and feeling disconnected

When life feels flat, heavy, or pointless, even ordinary tasks can take enormous effort. You may have lost interest in things you once enjoyed or feel distant from people you care about. You don’t have to put a positive face on it here.

We offer space to talk honestly, explore what is contributing to your difficulties, and work towards manageable changes that support connection, meaning, and everyday wellbeing.

03

Grief, bereavement, and loss

Loss can affect your sleep, concentration, relationships, and sense of who you are. It may follow a death, separation, illness, the loss of a pet, or the ending of a life you expected to have. There is no timetable you need to meet.

We support you in making room for your experience, finding ways to cope, and gradually reconnecting with life while respecting what you have lost.

04

Trauma and distressing experiences

Something that happened recently or long ago may still affect how safe you feel, how you relate to others, or how you respond under pressure.

We take a sensitive, collaborative approach. You have a say in what we discuss and how we work. We pay attention to your sense of safety and the pace that feels manageable. Where a different or more specialist service would better meet your needs, we’ll discuss that with you.

05

Confidence, self-esteem, and harsh self-criticism

Perhaps you second-guess yourself, struggle to speak up, compare yourself with others, or feel that whatever you do is never enough.

We help you explore the beliefs and experiences behind these patterns, recognise your strengths, and practise a more supportive relationship with yourself. This may include boundaries, assertiveness, decision-making, or taking steps you have been putting off.

06

Relationships and family life

Relationships can bring comfort and connection, but also conflict, loneliness, uncertainty, and hurt.

You may want support with communication, separation, repeated arguments, changing roles, intimacy, or the effects of someone else’s behaviour on your wellbeing. We offer individual support and can discuss whether couples or family work is appropriate for your circumstances.

07

Sleep, habits, and recurring patterns

You may struggle to wind down, wake with worries, or find yourself repeating behaviours that no longer help you.

We can explore the emotional and practical factors involved and work with you on realistic ways to respond differently. For smoking cessation or other specific habits, contact us to discuss the support and appointment format that may suit you.

08

Work, caring, and burnout

Being the dependable one can come at a cost. You may be managing pressure at work, supporting someone you love, dealing with conflict, or feeling that everyone’s needs come before your own.

We offer space to consider your limits, process what you’re carrying, and find practical ways to support your wellbeing.

09

Living with illness, pain, or physical change

Illness, persistent pain, fatigue, medical treatment, and changes in your body can affect much more than physical health.

We offer psychological support with the worry, frustration, grief, and adjustment these experiences can bring. Our work can sit alongside care from your medical team.

10

Neurodiversity and feeling understood

You may be navigating ADHD, autistic experiences, sensory demands, masking, or the exhaustion of trying to meet expectations that don’t fit you.

We take your experiences seriously and explore support that respects how you think, feel, and function. You don’t need to arrive with a diagnosis to talk about what you find difficult.

11

Performance, study, and creative confidence

You may know you have the ability, yet struggle to access it when the pressure is on.

We support people with exam stress, public speaking, sport performance, stage nerves, creative blocks, and the demands of performing in front of others. Together, we can work on preparation, attention, confidence, and your response to pressure.

12

Life changes and finding your direction

A new role, an empty nest, retirement, a relationship ending, or a change in circumstances can leave you wondering what comes next.

You may want help making a decision, rediscovering what matters, or creating a life that feels more like your own. Therapy or therapeutic life coaching can give you space to explore that.

Questions you may have

What can I talk about in therapy?

You can explore anxiety, stress, low mood, sleep difficulties, relationships and other challenges affecting everyday life. You do not need a perfect explanation of what is wrong before asking for support.

Will therapy be tailored to me?

Gareth and Enfys use a person-centred, collaborative approach. The work is shaped around your experiences, preferences and goals, rather than assuming that one technique suits everyone.
